TOP MLB Plays Today 8/29/17

Thanks to the weather, tonight's going to be very sloppy. Make sure to pay close attention going into the slate.

Power Pitching Targets:

  1. Chris Sale, BOS ($13,200 DK, $10,900 FD )Don't have to worry about weather with Sale, they're playing indoors. Did Sale ruin your lineup last week? He'll make it up to you tonight. Those were the Indians, and these are the Blue Jays. Sale routinely punishes the Blue Jays. TOR hitting .160 vs Chris Sale in 106 at bats. Even if you factor his flub he's still studly, 32.77 FPPG in 8 Blowout games, 27.15 over 16 games. Only bad news is TOR can hit lefties. TOR's lineup has a .341 wOBA vs lefties. BOR's lineup has a .167 ISO vs lefties. End thought... the odds of Sale having back-to-back bad games are very low. All signs point that tonight should be a masterful performance from Chris Sale. Bargainish on FanDuel.

  2. Ervin Santana, MIN ($10,200 DK, $9000 FD) Just last week Ervin dominated the White Sox earning him a spot in the Perfect Lineup. All the sauce indicates, tonight should be equally delicious: CHW's lineup has a 22.7% K rate vs righties. CHW's lineup has a .295 wOBA vs righties. CHW's lineup has a .132 ISO vs righties. CHW hitting .230 vs Ervin Santana in 107ab. For whatever reason, he's a little shaky at home... but, that shouldn't scare you from rostering what should a noteworthy performance from Santana. Also, love the fact you've got Shields on the other side who will inevitably force the Sox to be winded by the time they're batting. Also bargainish on FanDuel.

  3. Jake Arrieta, CHC ($11,100 DK, $9900 FD) Jake's feeling good, he's at home, he's rested, and ate his wheaties. As you know Jake is a strikeout machine. What worries me is his up/down history against Pittsburgh. PIT hitting .230 vs Jake Arrieta in 146ab. He's hot as of late, scoring 23.97 FPPG past 3 games on DraftKings. The matchup looks very favorable considering the way Pittsburgh bats have been falling as of late. McCutchen doesn't worry me as much as Bell who has some HR history with Arrieta.

I'll give a personal preference towards Chris Sale's comeback game. I can understand if you're not feeling that after being burned last week, hence the other two options.

Value Pitchers:

The Chris Sale we hope shows up tonight.
