Large slates generally bring with them a wide variety of pitching, and tonight is no different. There are some serious power pitchers tonight, and some seriously bad pitchers going as well, which should make for some interesting lineup choices. Do you go for the power pitching and find value hitters? Do you pay up for hitters and find value pitching?
Power Pitching Targets:
D. Keuchel, HOU ($10400 DK, $9300 FD)Keuchel is one of the cheaper power pitching targets tonight. He's had 3 terrible games in his last 4. However he bounced back against TEX in his last outing, and is looking to return to his former self. He's facing OAK who have a 28% K rate vs lefties over the last 60 games. Pitching at home in a very friendly ballpark, where he's sporting a nice 1.59 ERA on the season. He should be fairly chalky tonight, but hard to beat the value his price offers tonight!
R. Hill, LAD ($11300 DK, $9200 FD) Rich Hill dominated a better Tigers team twice last year. DET is only hitting .180 vs Rich Hill in their last 38 at bats. Hill has been dominant in games where the Dodgers have been favored: 23.87 FPPG in 9 Big Favorite games. Rich "the blister" Hill always has a chance to leave the game early is something to consider. DET has lost 10 of the last 12 games, and have scored more than 5 runs in only 2 of those games. Hill has a good chance to shut out Detroit tonight, who can only seem to get 1 or 2 hitters hot any given game, unable to put together sustained offense.
No Max Scherzer against the Padres? For Scherzy he could certainly have a good game tonight, but at a $14.1k price tag, he's going to need to throw a no-no to live up to that price tag, so we'll pass tonight with other more-affordable options available in a large slate.
Freerolls Tonight:
$5k NFL Pre-Season (Saturday) - DK
For large slates, we like to stick to a max of 3 player team stacks. There are a lot of teams to target going against bad pitching, so spread your picks out. If you're looking to go contrarian tonight, SF against Moore might be interesting, as he's likely to be the highest owned value pitcher tonight, and could get blown up ruining a lot of lineups.
