TOP MLB Plays Today 7/20/17

Tonight we've got a tiny mish-mosh slate. Lucky for you, that's what I like. 

Power Pitching Targets:

1. Cole Hamels, TEX ($9400 DK, $9000 FD)The Cole of old has made a resurgence. With his salary steadily rising, he's still a super affordable power pitcher with lots of upside. The Rangers have been straight up embarrassed the past two games and I highly doubt Cole is going to let it happen again on his watch. Here's the goodness in Cole's Corner tonight: BAL's lineup has a 23.3% K rate vs lefties. BAL hitting .190 vs Cole Hamels in 53 at bats. Cole has Scored 26.77 FPPG past 3 games. It's a bold call, and we might regret it later but he's our top power pitcher tonight and thanks to MadBum below and Strikeout heavy Severino he shouldn't be too highly owned.

2.  Madison Bumgarner, SF ($11,800 DK, $11,200 FD) The San Diego Padres vs. Madison Bumgarner. Pretty sure that's all that needs to be said. I'll stat gush a little anyways... San Francisco is heavily favored. [-190] SD's lineup has a 25.5% K rate vs lefties. SD's lineup has a .302 wOBA vs lefties. SD's lineup has a .135 ISO vs lefties. SD hitting .130 vs Madison Bumgarner in 78 at bats Averages 22.8% more FP while Home. There's nothing certain in life, but the odds that Madison Bumgarner crushes the Padres this evening we'd say is VERY likely. All that gushing aside, two things working against Madbum... HIGH OWNERSHIP + Losing Season aka he has the rest of the Giants behind him. Those two reasons will be enough for many of you to pass on the MadBum. Ending thought, in an identical matchup just 5days ago Chacin would have been the better pick dollar for dollar. My gut says Madbum isn't going to get bested twice.

Note: Today we left Severino off. He's a strikeout machine and deserves your look, many people would argue over MadBum. However, his poor performance against red hot Seattle in April, and exceptionally high salary tonight earn him a spot on our bench.
