Top MLB Plays 4/26 | Come Sale Away ⛵️

Tastefully curated M-F by LineStar fantasy experts.

Tuesdays and Fridays in DFS Baseball are like that rich house in the neighborhood that gives you full size candy bars and you just keep doing laps, changing your mask and loading up on Big Snickers. Of course that would make today's Thursday slate like a mini Almond Joy but one already with a bite out of it. Schedule makers must assume that sports nuts around the world are too focused on tonight's NFL draft as there are just four MLB contests on the main slate. Let's focus on the positive aspect though, with such a small player pool it could be some dark horse dudes that end up deciding tonight's contests.

Like Halloween candy on November 1st, the theme of today's newsletter is price slashing value. Let's dig up a couple underdog players to give you the best house (DFS roster) on the block.

You've got 8 guys to choose from today – wait that sounds like a horrible reality dating show. The pitching slate is light but it can still be taken advantage of.

Power Pitching Targets ⚾️

  1. Chris Sale ($ 13,000 DK, $ 11,400 FD)Obviously the highest price pitcher any time he takes the mound but especially when there's only 7 other hurlers on the hill. Sale can be beat, he allowed 3ER to Oakland his last start which is way too many when your team is going to get no-hit by Sean Manea. Sale still had a great DFS day though with 10SO. Boston is heavily favored tonight and Sale is up against a Toronto team that has a 22.1% K rate against lefties and is hitting the Red Sox pitcher just .200 as a whole.

  2. Jakob Junis ($ 8,300 DK, $ 8,700FD)Junis is a solid option today up against the White Sox and their 23rd ranked scoring offense. The young Kansas City pitcher had back-to-back 0 ER performances to begin 2018 and is coming off a 2 ER performance against Detroit while lasting 8.0 IP. Chicago's lineup can get on base against RH pitching (.323 wOBA) but they also whiff a lot with a 27.6% K rate.

Value Pitchers

  1. Kyle Hendricks ($ 6,900 DK, $ 0000 FD)The Professor is back home at Wrigley after allowing just 3ER his last outing in Coors Field. Hendricks has struggled a bit giving up the long ball with 5HR surrendered his last 3 starts including 2 to these Brewers on April 6th. His SO numbers are up a bit though with 13 in the last 11 IP. The Brewers strike out 23% of the time against RH pitching and Hendricks has pitched well against Milwaukee as they have a .220 career average against him.

  2. Chase Anderson ($ 6,600 DK, $ 7,700 FD)If runs are at a premium tonight, Milwaukee's Anderson could be another solid play. Kris Bryant's status for the game is undetermined and Chicago's offense can be up-and-down with 2ER or less in two of their last four. Anderson made two mistakes against the Marlins his last start and 2HR accounted for the only 3ER that Miami scored. The Brewers right hander allowed just 2ER on 4 hits in a start against the Cubs on April 8th.

  • Kris Bryant – People might be shying away from Bryant as players often get the 'yips' after seeing a fastball breeze into their eye. If he plays Bryant will have the adoring love of the home crowd behind him and has hit Milwaukee's Anderson well with 3HR in 16 career AB. It's not many times you'll ever see KB as a value play but tonight could be it.

Stacks on Stacks 🥞

It's a short stack option for tonight's four game slate:

  • KC – Moustakas / Duda / Jay – Duda and Jay have OPS of over 1.333 against Giolito, who struggled last time out.

  • BOS – Betts / Ramirez / Bradley, Jr. – Blue Jays' Estrada has allowed 9ER in his last 9IP.

  • CHW– Abreu / Moncada / Sanchez – Junis has been good for KC, but he did allow 3HR to the LAA two starts ago.

It's a short slate tonight but that doesn't mean we can't make the most of it. If anything, the player pool in Thursday's contests are tight knit and feel like a family. Let's just hope they're not a dysfunctional one.
