Top MLB Plays 4/25 | Kershaw Calling πŸ“ž

Tastefully curated M-F by LineStar fantasy experts.

OK so apparently the Yankees are going to be kind of fun to watch as they launched another 4 HR last night. Tuesday was another good night on the diamond that saw Joey Votto finally hit his first long ball of the season while Mike Trout sent #10 into the stands. Milwaukee has somehow won 7 straight and the Marlins chalked a 3-2 upset over the Dodgers as +234 underdogs. $10 on Miami today will win you $32.90 as they go up against Clayton Kershaw. Hey, this is baseball – that might not be a bad bet.

Kershaw getting the call πŸ“ž

It's a marquee pitching slate tonight that includes Kershaw, Greinke, Lester, Arrieta...and Chacin? The Brewers right-hander could be the best play of all of them believe it or not.

Power Pitching Targets ⚾️

  1. Clayton Kershaw ($ 14,000 DK, $ 11,400 FD)It's going to cost a pretty penny to cut Kershaw the check tonight, but fewer things have been more certain than the lefty putting up huge numbers each and every start. Kershaw is coming off a 9 hit, 4ER duel against Washington's Max Scherzer but he posted a 12 K, 2-hitter the start before against Arizona. The lefty has a very favorable matchup with Miami tonight as LAD is posted as an insane -380 favorite. The Marlins actually don't hit LH too bad (.337 wOBA) but Kershaw is definitely worth the overspending tonight.

  2. Jake Arrieta ($ 8,500 DK, $ 8,800FD)It's Arrieta vs. Zack Greinke tonight and the Philly pitcher has a bit more value at $1,500 less on DraftKings. After a postponed start to the 2018 season after signing late, Arrieta looked sharp his last outing in a 10 SO, 1-hitter against Pittsburgh. The 97 pitches were his most thrown all year and Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said Arrieta's fast ball looked the best it has since 2015. The D'Backs struggle with a 22.3% K rate against right handers and are hitting just .210 against Arrieta in 47 career ABs.

Value Pitchers

  1. Eduardo Rodriguez ($ 7,600 DK, $ 7,100 FD)The Boston left hander is coming off two straight great outings in giving up 3 ER over the past 12 IP. He has recovered nicely after a shaky start to the season against Tampa Bay and could see his SO numbers rise a bit against a Toronto team that has a 23.2% K rate vs. southpaws. Rodriguez has been hard to hit this year and although he has allowed 2HR in 2018, the exit velocity off his pitches has been just 86.6 MPH.

  2. Jhoulys Chacin ($ 4,900 DK, $ 5,500 FD)The Brewers are getting a lot of heavy betting action as they aim for their under-the-radar 8th straight win tonight in Kansas City. There's incredible value in Chacin – especially on DraftKings – if for anything at least the 'W' against a Royals team that has dropped 8 of 10. The Brewers right hander has pitched well though, allowing just 1ER his last two starts (10 IP) including 6 shutout innings against Miami his last time out. Chacin has given up just 1 HR this year and will be getting the start in #9 pitcher friendly Kaufman Stadium against a Royals team that has a less than .300 wOBA against righties.

#HomeRunWatchlist πŸ’₯

The Braun man can.

  • Rajai Davis – Rajai Davis was close to never having to buy a steak in Cleveland ever again after his 2-out, 2-run HR off Aroldis Chapman tied things up in the 8th inning of the '16 World Series Game 7. We all know what happened next but Davis is up against those Cubs again tonight. The CF is struggling with a paltry .074 average and 0 HR on the year. He's also hit .304 off tonight's starter Jon Lester with a HR and 14 RBI. Take Davis for $2,800 on DK and you'll have money saved up for Clayton Kershaw.

Stacks on Stacks πŸ₯ž

There's a lot of quality pitching on the bump tonight but in true ying/yang fashion there's some hurlers that are struggling as well. Exploit them.

  • Texas – Beltre / Gallo / Mazara – Beltre questionable for Wednesday, but any Rangers hitters are good options against Oakland's Kendall Graveman who has an ERA of 10.07 on the year while giving up 5+ ER in three straight starts.

  • MIL – Thames / Braun / Yelich – All hit better than .333 against KC's Hammel and Braun/Thames are averaging over 11 FP per night the past week.

  • TB– Smith / Wendle / Robertson – Definitely a play of 'who you're against' more than 'who you are.' Baltimore's Alex Cobb has allowed 12ER in his first two starts of the year in only 7 total IP. He's up against his old teammates today, does he serve up a few gopher balls for old time's sake.

  • STL– Dejong / Pham / Molina – St. Louis has a .368 team BA against NYM's Steven Matz. Dejong/Pham have hit 3 HR in 7 combined AB against the left hander.

Reverse Stack Wednesday?

  •  PHI – Herrera / Hoskins / Hernandez – This 'Triple H' play for WWE fans sees the Philly trio up against Zack Greinke tonight. The former ace has been hit or miss on the year with 2 outings of 4+ ER and 2 others of 1ER or less. If it's a miss Wednesday on the road for Greinke, this is a solid stack.

Last night's PERFECT Lineup! Could be you tonight πŸ˜‰

Wednesday is a good balance night where either pitching or hitting can carry your teams. There's a solid mix of value and 'sure things' so tonight should be very lucrative. Enjoy.
