Main Slate Rundown 🏟

Only 14 days remain in the MLB regular season, so enjoy the full baseball slates while ya can before playoffs arrive! Monday will feature a solid eight-game slate with a decent balance between pitching and hitting. Unfortunately, the actual DFS contests for this slate are a little lackluster since DraftKings and FanDuel pushing out huge featured GPPs for the two-game NFL slate. It is what it is, but rest assured that tomorrow should bring back the typical contest selection.

Heads up that this MLB newsletter will be pretty bare bones today. After writing up that two-game NFL slate, I’m getting a bit of a later-than-usual jump on the MLB action. So, expect this to be a very quick read. Who knows, maybe plenty of folks will appreciate the lack of blabbering from myself! Anyhow, best of luck!

No notable weather conditions to highlight today. Just as a general note, temps around the country are beginning to drop as Fall approaches so those “warm & humid” conditions will be few and far between moving forward.

Pitchers to Consider ⚾

Freddy Peralta (RHP), MIL | DK: $11.3k, FD: $10.8k | @ STL

The most expensive pitcher on the slate but, outside of a poor outing against Pittsburgh a couple of weeks ago, Peralta has been well worth these price tags. He has put up at least 25.3 DKFP/43 FDFP in six of his last seven starts to go along with a nutty 40.3% kRate, 1.94 ERA, 2.37 xFIP, and 0.67 WHIP in that span. It’s not a perfect match-up against the Cardinals on the road (Peralta: -40.0% less FPPG away). However, the Cardinals have been a fairly average offense against RHPs, ranking 14th with a 104 wRC+ L2 Weeks.

Michael Wacha (RHP), SD | DK: $8.9k, FD: $9.3k | vs. COL

Wacha has been pretty shaky in his last couple of outings, but he has also gone up against a pair of tough offenses in the Dodgers and Phillies. In the five starts before those brutal match-ups, Wacha had posted a strong 2.70 ERA next to a 23.7% kRate and an 88.1% Left on Base%. Now, the match-up doesn’t get much better than getting the Rockies playing away from Coors Field at the pitcher-friendly Petco Park (#3 most pitcher-friendly ballpark this season). Against RHPs on the road over the last month, the Rockies own an MLB-worst 61 wRC+ and an MLB-high 28.3% kRate. Great bounce-back spot for Wacha here and the Padres are slate-leading -265 ML favorites tonight.

Bryan Woo (RHP), SEA | DK: $7.2k, FD: $9.7k | @ OAK

There is a major discrepancy in Woo’s price tags between DK and FD so he’s a much stronger play on the former site. Left-handed hitters have been giving Woo major issues in his rookie season and against that side of the plate, he owns a poor 6.89 ERA, 6.11 xFIP, 1.79 WHIP, .410 opp wOBA, and 18.0% kRate. Fortunately, the A’s do not have many quality lefty bats they can roll out against him so the majority of the lineup should be RHBs today, in which Woo owns a stellar 2.23 ERA, 2.85 xFIP, 0.70 WHIP, .197 opp wOBA, and 29.5% kRate against. The A’s also have an MLB-high 29.8% kRate against RHPs L2 Weeks so, overall, it’s a prime spot for Woo to succeed.

Other Pitchers to Consider

Justin Verlander (RHP), HOU | DK: $10.5k, FD: $10.5k | vs. BAL

Mike Clevinger (RHP), CWS | DK: $7.6k, FD: $9k | @ WAS

Team Stacks to Target 🎯

Disclaimer: Stacking in MLB DFS is not a requirement but it is a very common strategy used to take down GPPs. This strategy is covered in more detail in the MLB DFS strategy guide linked in the header at the top of this newsletter. Check out the MLB StackFinder on LineStar.

Ryan’s PrizePicks Power Play of the Day

Here is a two-pick “Power Play” I’m liking for today's MLB action over on PrizePicks! Nothing is ever a guarantee to hit but I put my own money on these picks so I don't just lightly throw them out there without believing they'll cash! If it hits, it will return 3x the wager.

Ronald Acuña Jr. MORE than 0.5 Runs

Yoan Moncada MORE than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
