Main Slate Rundown

Ryan is taking some much deserved time off, so I'll be filling in for him AGAIN.

In my neverending quest to make DFS fun again, we'll use a little math to figure out who we should play (or not play) today.

Main slate match-ups with implied run totals and moneyline odds:

The Zero DFS Philosphy โ˜๏ธ๐ŸŒฆ๏ธโ˜๏ธ

Here's the difference between me and most DFS players:

I don't look at stats, almost ever. I'm doing math around player projections, projected ownership, and building some calculations around that. Today, I'm sharing the very rankings and info I use to build lineups.

As we go down the list, I want you to understand a few terms:

  • LSOwn: refers to LineStar's Ownership Projections

  • Probability: the probability of a player hitting 80% of the LineStar "Perfect Lineup" score for that position

  • Implied Ownership: Comparing players across a position, how I project that they should be owned.

  • Leverage: You can get leverage over the field, even with "chalk" players.

So here's how I'm going to do this. I'm going to share my rankings at each position, along with my stack rankings for tonight, starting with pitching.

Top 5 Catchers Rankings โšพ

FanDuel has a combined C/1B position slot, so I'm not looking at catchers there. I almost always fill that slot with a first basemen.

Team Stacks to Target ๐ŸŽฏ

Disclaimer: Stacking in MLB DFS is not a requirement but it is a very common strategy used to take down GPPs. This strategy is covered in more detail in the MLB DFS strategy guide linked in the header at the top of this newsletter.

How this works:

I'm looking at stacks, taking the 5 highest projected for each team, and ranking them according to projection, summed ownership, summed implied ownership, standard deviation, and probability of hitting a target score.

Here's my 10 favorite stacks (in order) for each site

Home Run Call of the Day ๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ’ฅ

3B Austin Riley | DK: $5.6k, FD: $3.8k | vs Webb, vs SF

If you know, you know...

One last thing....

LJegendary1 ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ†Dong of the Day๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’ฅ

3B Rafael Devers | DK: $5.7k, FD: $4.4k | vs Faedo, vs DET

SECOND CHANCE: Straight from everyone's favorite bro in chat, @LJegendary1 I'm giving him another chance. If he gets this right, @LineStarTyler has to give him the "Fan of the Day" tag. If not, better luck next time, bro!

NOTE: @LJegendary1's original pick was JD Martinez. ๐Ÿคฃ

Reminder: Follow @LineStarApp on Twitter and retweet the daily Home Run Call (shown below)! Three retweeters are randomly selected and assigned a hitter from the HR calls between myself, @FlatTyler83, and @ShannonOnSports. If your player hits a home run, you'll win your choice of cash (via PayPal) or a two-month subscription to LineStar!

LineStar subscribers have access to the new Player Props page (also on the app). It's an easy way to view odds for games and player props while also helping you to find out which sportsbook has the most favorable odds posted for any bet you'd like to place!

Best of luck today, everyone!
