Top MLB DFS Plays 4/26 | How Brave are you today?

Happy Monday, everyone. It's your dude, ZeroInDenver, filling in for Ryan today. We get 9 games on tonight's slate, and I'm going to walk you through my approach as well as who I like on this slate.

If you're new to LineStar, my approach is a little different from most. I'm 100% MME GPP and try to look for teams and stacks that fall somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. A lot of what I'm going to share on this slate may seem odd or contrary to what Bogman and KC Bubba have said in the podcast (I haven't listed, yet, FYI), but again, my focus is on teams, stacks, and players that could do really well in tournaments. We're risking it for the biscuit, friends.

Right now.... all good. No rain or trouble spots expected. PLAY BALL!

Pitchers to Consider ⚾

I live and die by the belief that "pitching won't win you a GPP, but it could cost you one." That said, I don't overthink pitchers. I put emphasis on bats in my lineups and let in whatever fits in. Here's what I have in early builds.

Corbin Burnes (RHP) | DK: $10.4k, FD: $11.1k | vs. MIA

One of the most expensive on the slate, but I can't find a reason not to play him.

Charlie Morton (RHP) | DK: $8k, FD: $8.6k | vs. ARI

A little risky going up against the Cubbies, but he's had a decent K rate so far this season.

Trevor Rogers (LHP) | DK: $8.4k, FD: $9.6k | vs. MIL

Extra risky, but Rogers rounds out the top 3 of my exposure to pitchers tonight. He's pitched well so far this season, but his Statcast numbers are sus. I'm just hoping he can pick up enough strikeouts to make up for any runs he lets across.

Team Stacks to Target 🎯

Disclaimer: There is no rule saying you *have* to stack in MLB DFS. It’s just a super common method that GPP-winning lineups often deploy. Picking a bunch of one-off hitters and/or some two/three-man mini-stacks can certainly take down big prizes as well.

Oakland Athletics vs. Rich Hill (LHP), TB

As long as the A's stay hot, I'm going to continue to stack them. Also, they face Rich Hill tonight, and that should be enough reason to stack them.

Atlanta Braves vs. Zach Davies (RHP), CHI

So the Braves basically got 1-hit yesterday against Arizona across the double-header. BUT... they face Zach Davies and the Cubs today. I think Atlanta turns it around today.

The “Kinda Crazy Stack That Just Might Work Out”

Houston Astros vs. Justus Sheffield (LHP), SEA

Something I do each slate is filter the LineStar app to only show pitchers and then I look through some of the basic sorters like Projected Ownership and Hated, just to see where the community sits. So far NO ONE likes Sheffield tonight. He's one of the most "hated" pitchers on tonight's slate so why not stack against him? Also, there's not a ton of value in the heart of the Houston lineup, so that could keep ownership down as well. Could be a clever path to the top tonight.

One-Off Hitters ☝️

Some one-off candidates to consider outside of players on teams mentioned above in the stack section:

OF Ronald Acuna Jr. | DK: $6.2k, FD: $4.3k | vs. Zach Davies (RHP), ATL

This is my spend-up play for the day and the "must have" if you're stacking Braves tonight.

1B/OF Ryan Mountcastle | DK: $3.4k, FD: $2.5k | vs. Deivi García (RHP), BAL

Only two plate appearances versus García, but so far, so good. Cheap way to get exposure to a Baltimore team that is facing a struggling Yankee team tonight

3B Gio Urshela | DK: $3.4k, FD: $2.3k | vs. Matt Harvey (RHP), NYY

The Yankees have been struggling, but they face Matt Harvey tonight. From the bunch, Urshela is my favorite as a one-off.

OF Yuli Gurriel | DK: $4.6k, FD: $2.9k | vs. Justus Sheffield (LHP), HOU

Gurriel had a decent week last week with 3 HRs, 10 RBIs, and an amazing .908 ISO+wOBA. As I mentioned, love Houston tonight, but love him as a one-off

OF Randy Arozarena | DK: $4.3k, FD: $3.3k | vs. Sean Manea (HP), TB

Arozarena mashes lefties with a .338 Avg, .466 wOBA, and .363 ISO across 91 plate appearances.

Home Run Call of the Day 💣💥

1B Nate Lowe | DK: $4.2k, FD: $3.4k | vs. Ohtahni (RHP), LAA

So this is the "Milly Method" (shoutout to @Milly in chat). He's been a big fan of using the "Alerts" sorter in LineStar to find plays. I'm a fan of it as well. Mix in some solid Statcast numbers over the past two weeks and a combined .580 ISO+wOBA and I think he's ripe for a dong tonight.
